The Turkey Dog Rescue Team
Emel Ceylan Üçüncüoğlu
Watching abandoned dogs try and survive on the streets of Turkey is heartbreaking, and Emel has spent her entire life trying to save as many dogs as she could.
She and her husband Siyami built kennels on their property and began rescuing the most injured and ill dogs from the streets. Emel and Siyami pay for the majority of vetting, rehabilitation, food, and shelter for each dog in their care out of their own pockets — sometimes this means housing and feeding over 100 dogs that would otherwise die a horrible death.
In 2015, Emel began to work with rescues in the United States. She periodically flies to the U.S. bringing dogs that are ready for adoption, giving these dogs a chance to live out their lives as loved and cherished family members.

Louise Dobbe
Louise is the founder and president of Turkey Dog Rescue. She met Emel while volunteering for Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest (RAGOM), and soon after volunteered to fly to Turkey to bring dogs here for adoption through RAGOM.
After witnessing the heartbreaking plight of abandoned dogs in Turkey firsthand, Louise created Turkey Dog Rescue to financially support the efforts of rescuers to save and rehome these dogs through recognized rescue organizations.
